The range starts with the E 220 d on the SE trim with an 18% BiK rising through the same engine on the AMG Line trim, the E 350 d engine on the SE trim and finally the E 350 d with AMG Line trim at 26% BiK.

The E 220 d uses an all-new four-cylinder 2.0-litre bi-turbo engine which produces 195hp and 400Nm matched to a nine-speed 9G-Tronic automatic gearbox while the six-cylinder E 350 d produces 258hp and 620Nm matched to the same gearbox.

Standard specification on the SE trim includes features such as Garmin Map Pilot navigation, 8.4 inch display, Parktronic parking sensors with a reversing camera and Park Pilot self-parking system, two-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, heated front seats, electrically folding mirrors and 17" alloy wheels (18" on E 350 d engine).

AMG Line models feature AMG exterior styling, 19inch alloy wheels, 3-spoke AMG steering wheel, Artico leather and Dynamic microfiber upholstery and seat comfort package all as standard on top of the SE trim.

All E 350 d models come with Air Body Control multi-chamber air suspension as standard, as well as COMAND satellite navigation with 12.3-inch display and remote online services.

As with most Mercedes-Benz models these days, there are two Premium option packages available, the Premium package (£2,795) and the Premium Plus package (£3,895), which adds features such as a 13-speaker Burmester surround sound system and Multibeam LED intelligent light system.
